- Central tracking system :
|
The system shall have a suitable central tracking system so that concentrators track the sun automatically. The central tracking system consists of winch, SPV panels, low maintenance tubular cell battery of 12V, 40 Ah, electronic controller to charge the battery and operate DC motor, electronic timer and relay, DC drive motor, wire rope of appropriate diameter (GI), wheels on brackets on stand to guide wire ropes, counter weights to balance and drive the tracking. |
- Steam header and steam header pipe:
|
The steam headers will have feed water inlet and steam pipeline outlet arrangements with valves and pressure reducing station. The seamless steam header pipe line shall be of suitable diameter of about 10” Sch.40 seemless. |
- Steam pipe line (Branch)and feed water pipe line :
|
The Steam pipe line (branch) shall be of Sch.40, seemless and feed/raw water pipe line should be of ‘C’ Class GI of suitable diameter to supply steam and feed water for the system requirements. |
- Steel structures :
|
The supporting Structures for reflectors, steam headers, upper and lower stands, Steam & feed water pipe lines and pressure reducing valve station, feed water tank, central tracking system, winch, ladder etc will be made out of mild steel with anti corrosive paint coating and suitable sizes of round bars, channels, angles, round pipes , square pipes, and, and aluminum channels. All MS structures shall be assembled with good quality bolts, nuts – cadmium passivated (rustproof) and copper wires. A ladder of MS structure of suitable height with walking path shall be provided adjacent to standing row of reflectors for cleaning and maintenance of vales, pressure gauges, cleaning of mirrors etc. |
- Instrumentation:

The Solar steam generating system shall be provided with with quality instrumentations like temperature indicator, pressure gauges, pressure release valve, main safety valve, manual pressure release for condensate release before cooking vessels, pressure reducing valve, control valve for provision of boiler back up, main control valve, steam separator with safety valve and pump set of suitable size for supply of clean water to the system. |
- Supply, Installation and commissioning of solar steam generating system:
|
The system will be supplied and commissioned on turnkey basis, except for civil work which will be done by the buyer agency under the supervision of the system supplier. The system will be hydro tested to confirm that there are no leakages in the joints. After that trial runs would be undertaken by the supplier on site to confirm the out put and integration of system |
- Insulation:
|
The pipelines, receivers etc will be insulated with padded mineral wool insulation material to reduce the radiation losses to ensure that maximum steam reaches the use points – Density of the insulation 100 kg/cm2 |
- Painting of the system:
|
The system shall be coated with ant corrosive paint and synthetic enamel paint of good quality. |
- Performance of the system:
|
Month wise performance of the entire system for the given ambient and water temperature for the average isolation (Watt per square meter) be provided in terms of kcal or MJ or the kj /hr of Steam of the specified grade. |
Dish Specification
- Frame of M.S. material of 16.5 m sq area.
- Rectangular mirror of dimensions 228.6 X 171.45 each are fitted in frame of ellipse shape of M.S. material.
- Mirrors are from Saint Gobain with a back coating to reflect the radiations of sun incident on it.
- One solar frame contains approximately 400 numbers of mirrors.
- Each frame contains seven cross bar of different dimensions and one central bar.
Receiver material:
As the power plant require very high temperature at too much pressure it will require a
special type of receiver which can withstand that much of pressure and temperature.
Receiver is made up of High grade M.S. boiler plate of 8 mm thickness having black
coating.

Material list for Stand structure:
- Stand is made up of combining of different angles (I.S.A.) 50*50*5 and channels
- (I.S.M.C.75) made up of M.S. bar.
- Stand is made up of strong structure with angles and columns so that it can withstand load of wind equal to the weight of the system i.e. 500 Kg.
- The approximate height of the stand is 3.2 meter and it requires foundation area of (2000x2550) mm on base.
- The approximate height of stand is nearly 3.1meter and it requires (2000X2500) mm area at the base.
- Rotating support is to give rotation to the solar frame to track the radiations coming from sun.
Material required for tracking System:
Electronic timer operates the motion of stepper motor. Sensor tracks the radiations of
sun coming on it and sends signal to the electronic timer. Timer operates the switch
connected to the motor. From motor pulley wire rope is connected to the rotating support so that when the motor is operating it also rotates the rotating support and so the dish. Hence the dish moves according to the radiations of sun.

12) U clamp After finishing of parts the paint of red oxide from Asian paints, is given on material to
resist corrosion and to protect from rain. On red oxide paint there is a coating of p.o. red
colour from Asian paints. |
